Bollywood actor and filmmaker Salman Khan is all set to return to the small screens with the 19th season of his controversial reality show Bigg Boss. Scheduled for a premiere on JioHotstar from August 30 and being showcased on television after 90 minutes, the audience is excited to watch the upcoming season. As they wait for more details on the show, Khan’s fees per weekend for the show have been revealed.
Quoting a report by SCREEN, News18 stated that Khan will be earning Rs 8-10 crore per weekend. Which means he will be making Rs 120-150 crore for hosting the show for 15 weeks. Since the season will run for five months, he will host the first three months, after which Bollywood filmmakers Farah Khan, Karan Johar, and actor Anil Kapoor might reportedly take over. The media publication adds that the promo of Bigg Boss 19 was filmed on July 21 from 2 pm until midnight, with a political theme.

Unlike earlier seasons, the upcoming season is being treated like an extension of its OTT format. The production of the show is, reportedly, operating on a leaner budget. Talking about the 59-year-old actor’s fees in the previous seasons of the show, he had charged Rs 96 crore for Bigg Boss OTT 2, Rs 250 crore and Rs 200 crore, respectively, for seasons 18 and 17.
Talking about the final contestant list, the makers have kept everything under tight wraps. However, if rumours and media reports are to go by, the names that have surfaced include celebrities like Gautami Kapoor, Gaurav Taneja, Mr Faisu, Dhanashree Verma, Dheeraj Dhoopar, Alisha Panwar, Khushi Dubey, Apoorva Mukhija, Purav Jha, Gaurav Khanna, Dhanashree Verma, Sriram Chandra, Arshifa Khan, and Mickey Makeover.

On the work front, Salman Khan is currently busy with the shoot of Battle of Galwan. Talking about the film, it tells the story of the battle which took place in June 2020, when Indian and Chinese troops clashed in the remote, high-altitude Galwan Valley of Ladakh. The confrontation had turned into one of the deadliest border skirmishes in over forty years.
Based on the best-selling novel, India’s Most Fearless, Salman Khan will be essaying the role of Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu in the upcoming war drama. The movie also stars Chitrangda Singh, Zeyn Shaw, Ankur Bhatia, Harshil Shah, Heera Sohall, Abhilash Chaudhary, and Vipin Bhardwaj in pivotal roles.
