Scheduled for a release on August 1, 2025, the Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur multi-starrer film is a spiritual sequel to his 2012 film, which also starred Sanjay Dutt and Sonakshi Sinha in important roles. Having postponed its initial release, due to Saiyaara’s box-office craze, the movie is all set to release on the big screens this weekend.
Despite creating a good pre-release buzz with the trailer, teaser, as well as the funny hook-steps of the songs, which took social media by storm, media reports suggest that the movie is struggling to get screens due to high demand for Mohit Suri directorial and Mahavatar Narsimha’s shows.

Now, amidst it, a report by Bollywood Hungama stated that CBFC gave Son Of Sardaar 2 a U/A 13+ certificate, that too with no visual cuts. However, the entertainment portal added that they have added the makers to make a few modifications in some of the dialogues in the film. Quoting the report, the Free Press Journal states that CBFC has asked the makers to either mute the President of China, Xi Jinping’s, mention in one of the dialogues or to change it.
While the word “item” is replaced with “madam,” another dialogue, “Kutte ki tarah,” has been asked to be changed to “Bahut buri tarah.” A line starting with “Bhagwan…” and ending with “…Pe Lezim,” was asked to be replaced. The run time of the movie is 2 hours and 27 minutes. Since the first movie was a comedy caper, the expectations of the audience are at an all-time high with the upcoming film.

Set clash with Karan Johar’s film Dhadak 2, co-starring Triptii Dimri and Sidhanth Chaturvedi, Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur’s multi-starrer film will release in theatres on August 1, 2025. It will be interesting to see how the movies fare at the box office, given the successful box office run of Siayaara and Mahavatar Narsimha.
