Kangana Ranaut responded after Manisha Koirala called her a “brilliant, phenomenal actor.” On Sunday, Kangana shared a clip on her Instagram Stories where Manisha praised her. In an interview with Filme Shilmy, Manisha spoke about “new age” actors she admires. She said, “Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, I think they both are phenomenal, Vicky Kaushal, brilliant. They take my breath away when they perform. I say, ‘Yeh kaise karte hai yeh log?’ I’m enamoured with these performances.”
Manisha also praised Rajkummar Rao, Alia Bhatt, and Junaid Khan, among others. She said, “Rajkummar Rao, he is so good. I don’t miss these people’s movies. I worked with Jaideep (Ahlawat), and he is brilliant, flawless. In the big star category, Kangana is a brilliant actor. She is a phenomenal actor. Alia Bhatt is a very good, brilliant actor. So hardworking and it shows, she does thorough work.” Manisha also appreciated Junaid Khan, Aamir Khan’s son, for his debut in Maaharaj. Kangana posted the clip on Instagram, writing, “Thank you ma’am.”
This isn’t the first time Manisha has praised Kangana. In 2021, in a Pinkvilla interview, Manisha said, “Kangana is also brilliant. I loved her in Queen.”
Manisha’s latest project was Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar (2024), which also starred Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Segal, and Taha Shah Badussha. The Netflix series broke viewership records despite mixed reviews.
Kangana was last seen in Emergency, released on January 17 this year, with Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry, and Milind Soman. The film received poor reviews and earned only ₹20 crore at the box office.
Kangana will debut in Hollywood with a lead role in the horror drama Blessed Be the Evil, starring alongside Tyler Posey and Scarlet Rose Stallone. Directed by Anurag Rudra, the film’s production will begin this summer in New York.
