Adhyayan Suman Comes Out In Support Of Sharmin Segal’s Heeramandi Performance: ‘Only Heard Good Things’

Recently, Sharmin Segal Mehta, the daughter of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s sister Bela Segal, received a lot of negative comments online as the viewers were less than impressed with her performance in the Netflix India series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.

In Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, Sharmin Segal Mehta plays the role of Alamzeb, who is Mallikajaan’s youngest daughter. Mallikajaan, the chief courtesan of Shahi Mahal, is the character played by Manisha Koirala.

When Heeramandi first released, Sharmin Segal Mehta’s Instagram account was flooded with comments about how she ruined the entire show with her terrible, expressionless acting.

In fact, till now, there are many memes going around mocking the performance of Sharmin Segal Mehta while the performances of Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sonakshi Sinha, and Sanjeeda Sheikh are receiving a lot of praise.

Since her Instagram comments section got flooded with negative feedback by numerous viewers, Sharmin Segal Mehta has switched off her comments section, taking away the audience’s ability to criticize her.

Now, Adhyayan Suman, who also starred in Heeramandi in a recurring role, has spoken about the massive flack that his co-star has received for her performance in the show.

Speaking to News 18 about receiving negative feedback in general, Adhyayan Suman said, “It shakes your confidence. It also depends on how you’re as a person and how you handle these things. No matter how thick-skinned you pretend to be, it still affects you somewhere. Like, I shouldn’t be talking about the two haters who questioned my screen time out of the 20,000 positive messages I got, and yet I feel the urge to discuss those two. You do want to give some kind of a clarification because it does hurt you somewhere.”

On the case of Sharmin Segal Mehta, Adhyayan Suman added, “I don’t know how much backlash she’s facing because I’ve only heard good things about her. I honestly don’t know of the personal attacks they’re making at her. But a lot of star kids face this.”

For those unaware, Sharmin Segal Mehta made her acting debut in the 2019 film Malaal, which was also produced by her uncle Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
