Ali Abbas Zafar Reveals Katrina Kaif Was The First Choice For Bade Miyan Chote Miyan; ‘She Couldn’t Do…’

Bollywood’s dynamic duo, Katrina Kaif and filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar, have shared a formidable partnership over the years, delivering hits that entertained masses. However, their collaboration for Zafar’s upcoming project, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, hit a roadblock due to Kaif’s jam-packed schedule.

In a recent interview with News18, Zafar expressed his disappointment at being unable to secure Kaif for the film, citing her prior commitments as the reason. “She couldn’t do our film because she was busy with something else. I just hope that she keeps her dates free for my next film,” he lamented.

Despite the setback, Zafar made it clear that Kaif remains his top choice for leading female roles in all his projects. Their bond transcends the professional realm, with Zafar revealing, “Katrina is always on my mind when it comes to making any film. If I don’t cast her, she calls and tells me, ‘Why aren’t you taking me in your film?’”

Praising Kaif’s versatility and talent, Zafar underscored her potential as an actor, stating, “I feel there’s a lot of potential in her as an actor. Be it Bharat, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan or Tiger Zinda Hai, she has done some really good work with me.”

Kaif played the lead role in Zafar’s directorial debut, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, marking the beginning of their successful collaboration. Their partnership continued with blockbusters like Tiger Zinda Hai and Bharat, cementing their status as a dynamic director-actor duo.

Meanwhile, Zafar’s upcoming film, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, promises to be an action-packed extravaganza, starring Tiger Shroff and Akshay Kumar in the lead roles. The film also features Manushi Chillar and Alaya F as their love interests, with Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran essaying the role of the menacing antagonist. The movie is all set to release on Eid and will clash with Ajav Devgn’s Maidaan.
