Alia Bhatt Says She And Ranbir Kapoor Handle Success, Failure Differently; ‘I Am An Overthinker, He Moves On Quickly’

Alia Bhatt stole the spotlight at the Met Gala, draped in a stunning Sabyasachi saree, embodying the essence of an Indian princess. In a candid chat with Harper Bazaar, the Bollywood sensation delved into her post-role relaxation routine, handling social media backlash, and her dynamic with husband Ranbir Kapoor.

Reflecting on her marriage to Ranbir, Alia highlighted their contrasting coping mechanisms for success and failure. While she tends to overthink, Ranbir’s quick rebound mentality offers a balancing act. Alia emphasized their shared commitment to work, albeit not letting it consume their entire lives. The duo, who tied the knot in April 2021, cherish their roles as parents to Raha Kapoor.

She said, ” Ranbir and I handle things differently. I am more contemplative, a bit of an overthinker, while he prefers to shake off the dust and move on quickly. It’s this difference that helps us support each other, providing balance when it’s needed the most. But both of us choose to focus on work with a lot of love and immense respect. We work like it is a part of our life—a very important one—but not the whole of our life.”

Despite her acclaimed performances, Alia faces her fair share of social media trolls. Her strategy? Focusing on constructive criticism and positive feedback, while disregarding negativity. Alia lets her work speak volumes, maintaining a resilient barrier against online negativity.

She opined, “I let my work do the talking. It’s about building a wall between me and the trolls, focusing on the good stuff, the constructive feedback, and letting the negativity just bounce off.”
