Apple is bringing the new iPad Air and Pro models with M2 and M3 chip, respectively

Apple is not going to have a launch event for the new iPad models but expect a lot of big changes from the company.

Apple has already launched the new versions of MacBook Air models with the M3 processor in March but the company has bigger things lined up in the coming weeks. Apple’s new iPad Air and Pro models are expected to launch either by late March or early next month, as per the new details from Bloomberg this week.

The company is unlikely to have an event for these products as well, but it is likely that Apple will have multiple accessories launching along with the new iPads for the market.

The company has seen the demand for iPads come down, which clearly reflects in its recent financial data for the device. But Apple is ready to push the levels in 2024 and ensure the iPads have a clear identity, starting from the base iPad and going up to the iPad Pro variants.

iPad Air And Pro 2024 Launch Timeline: What We Can Expect

The new iPad Air and Pro models could get a design refresh which is long overdue. Apple wants to dish out the M2 chipset for the iPad Air, which is likely to be offered in 10.9-inch and even a 12.9-inch version which will be first for the Air tablet series.

Talking about the iPad Pro, expect Apple to go berserk with M3 chip, OLED display and changes to its design to compliment the inevitable price bump for the lineup. USB-C will understandably be part of the product lineup, complimenting the iPhone 15 series that launched last year.

The report coming in this week also says that Apple will release a new Apple Pencil variant and an all-new Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro model that will feature a new aluminium design and have a larger trackpad.

iPadOS will be the default platform to power both the models but Apple will be hoping that a big refresh of the iPads will help its sales numbers in the next few quarters. Apple has complicated matters for itself with a convoluted catalogue of iPads in the market. We are hoping the new refresh will streamline the portfolio, making it easy for the consumers to pick the right model for their needs.
