Box Office Collection: Maidaan And Bade Miyan Chote Miyan Fails To Impress Crowd On Day 2 Making Only Rs…

Ajay Devgn-led sports drama Maidaan has raked up nearly Rs 9.85 crore amid a sluggish Thursday release that brought a mere Rs 2.75 crore on Friday. It made Rs 7.1 crore on its opening day. The Bollywood movie is based on the life of Syed Abdul Rahim, a football wizard, popularly known as ‘Rahim Saab, ‘who coached and managed the Indian national team between 1950 and 1963 until his death. The Hyderabadi is hailed as the architect of modern Indian football, under whose mentorship the Indian national football team garnered the nickname “Brazil of Asia.” Without a shadow of a doubt, the golden period of Indian football. Ajay Devgn portrayed the role of Rahim in the latest Eid release. Priyamani features opposite Ajay Devgn as Saira Rahim, and Gajraj Rao dominates the screen as Roy Chaudhary. Indian Express reports 11.3 percent occupancy in Mumbai, with 605 shows, while in Delhi and NCR, the biographical movie managed a mere 7.3 occupancy with 753 shows. The Amit Sharma directorial, delayed for 4 years, was made on a budget of Rs 100 crore.

Released on the same day as Maidaan, the Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff-starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan witnessed a whopping 55% drop in box office collections on day 2. The action flick made Rs 15.65 crore on its opening day in India. On the second day, the movie raked in a mere Rs 7 crore, totaling its domestic collection at Rs 22.65 crore. The Ali Abbas Zafar directorial was made on a staggering Rs 300 crore budget.
