Farah Khan Reveals SRK Noticed Her Struggles With IVF During Om Shanti Om Shoot; ‘He Called For Break, I Sobbed’

Renowned choreographer-director Farah Khan recently opened up about her journey through pregnancy and the unwavering support she received from her close friend, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. In a candid interview, with Nova IVF Fertility YouTube channel, Farah revealed intimate details about her conception through IVF in her 40s and Shah Rukh’s significant role throughout the process.

During the shooting of the iconic film “Om Shanti Om,” Farah was undergoing the IVF procedure, which required her to travel over an hour to the clinic from the set. Farah recounted a particular moment when Shah Rukh noticed her distress during a shoot break and offered her solace in his van, where she found comfort in his support.

Farah said, “For the first five-six months, there were only lows, because they were retrieving eggs and planting them, and I don’t know how many times I must have gone under general anesthesia. The first time I went to the doc I was so sure that I was pregnant, but I literally got my period in her office. So I used to be sobbing all the way back to the shoot. One day, in the middle of the day, I got a call from the doctor, and she said it’s not happened this time. We were shooting a comic scene, and Shah Rukh knew something was wrong, because I was going to cry. So, he called for a break and took me into his van, where I’ve sobbed for one hour.”

Shah Rukh’s caring demeanor extended beyond the set as he became the first person, after her mother, to learn about Farah’s conception. Amidst the shoots, Shah Rukh ensured Farah’s comfort, even arranging a special lazy boy couch for her instead of the director’s chair. His thoughtfulness continued post-delivery, with Shah Rukh making a memorable visit to the hospital on the day Farah gave birth to her triplets – Czar, Diva, and Anya.

Describing Shah Rukh’s visit to the hospital, Farah humorously recalled the chaos caused by his presence, with patients stepping out of their rooms to catch a glimpse of the Bollywood icon. She said, “Shah Rukh came the same day to the hospital and there was a stampede. The patients have come out with their IV drips and Shah Rukh khada hai.”

Despite a well-publicized falling out with Shah Rukh in the years following her children’s birth, Farah emphasized the enduring bond they share. She reminisced about the overwhelming support she received from friends in the film industry during her pregnancy, including a heartwarming baby shower hosted by Shah Rukh’s wife, Gauri.
