Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali recently opened up about his films and his work in an interaction with Connect FM Canada. Some of his most loved movies include Jab We Met which was directed by him and Cocktail which was penned by him. When asked which actress is better Kareena Kapoor or Deepika Padukone, the filmmaker had an unexpected response.
While having a hard time voicing his opinion, the director finally said, “Very tough but let me say Kareena because I was the director.” For the unversed, Cocktail was directed by Homi Adajania and apart from Deepika Padukone the film was also led by Saif Ali Khan and Diana Penty. Meanwhile, Jab We Met was led by Kareena and Shahid Kapoor.
Both films were critically acclaimed and have turned into cult classics over the years. Jab We Met and Cocktail both were romantic dramas with comic elements. While Deepika Padukone’s role in the film was iconic, people still refer to Kareena Kapoor as her character Geet from the film.

On the work front, the filmmaker is gearing up for his next release Chamkila. The film is led by Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra and is a biopic of Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila. The film is set to see a direct OTT release and will hit the Netflix streaming platform on April 12, 2024.
