Internet Calls Agastya Nanda ‘Male Ananya Panday’ After Being Surprised He’s Not A Star After The Archies

Agastya Nanda is the grandson of prominent veteran actors, Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan. He is the nephew of popular Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan and the nephew-in-law of one of the most successful actresses in Bollywood, Aishwarya Rai. But the young star’s impressive lineage could not spare him from the trolling that was unleashed upon him after his out-of-touch with reality statement.

In an interview with Film Companion’s founder and editor Anupama Chopra, Agastya Nanda revealed how he got a reality check after his debut film, The Archies was released. He said, ”I thought that everyone would give hugs and kisses and love me. But I didn’t know there was this hate thing that happens.”

He continued, ”I didn’t know that people don’t like you. I thought it was so easy. ‘You do a film, people will love you, you become a star’. I had a very rosy picture but the first film reviews came out and I was like ‘Boss no. It’s not like that at all’.”

The internet was having none of it. Considering Agastya Nanda’s family, the internet did not expect him to have such opinions on the stardom and struggles of a newcomer in Bollywood. One user commented, ”A star kid just discovered world, wow” while another wrote, ”Family full of actors and this was still news to him? Can’t believe”.

Many were reminded of Ananya Panday’s ‘struggling’ comment as they declared him the ‘Male Ananya Panday’. Another user hilariously wrote, ”Dude only watched om shanti om second half”.

Agastya Nanda made his debut in Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies. While the film was commended for its unique concept and Indian adaptation of the Archies comics, the star kids that debuted in it namely Agastya Nanda, Suhana Khan and Khushi Kapoor were brutally trolled for their performances. From cringy dialogue delivery to dead expressions, the trolling was brutal on the star kids.
