The VFX and CGI used is commendable, the world building looks very interesting and have perfectly blended modernity with mythology. Prabhas embodies the role of Kalki, and we were expecting him to be introduced with a powerful presence but he just randomly appears in the trailer.

Set against the rich tapestry of Indian mythology and the haunting dystopia of a future Kasi (Varanasi), the film’s narrative spans millennia, from the epochal events of the Mahabharata in 3102 BC, marking the dawn of Kali Yuga, to the distant future of 2898 AD. The core of the story is anchored around the enigmatic figure of Kalki, the prophesied tenth and final avatar of the Hindu deity Vishnu, who is destined to restore order to a chaotic world.

Amitabh Bachchan, in a role that exudes wisdom and gravitas, appears as an ancient sage guiding Kalki on his path. Kamal Haasan’s portrayal of a morally complex antagonist adds depth to the narrative, challenging Kalki at every turn.

Deepika Padukone plays a warrior princess who is pregnant with a child who holds the reigns of the future of the world and everyone wants to hunt her. The trailer of the film is kind of a mix between Mad Max, Dune and every Hollywood futuristic film ever. Kalki 2898 AD is poised to be a landmark film in Indian cinema, however, the trailer falls short of the grand scale we were expecting.
