Kangana Ranaut Slams Congress Leader’s Sexist Remark About Hema Malini; ‘Don’t Even Leave An Elderly Woman’

Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala made an ‘indecent’ remark against actor-politician Hema Malini during a recent political rally. The comment, which insinuated that Hema Malini was elected for purposes other than representing the public’s interests, sparked widespread criticism and condemnation. Randeep said, “Why do we elect MLA/MP? So that they can raise our voices, and get our views accepted. They are not Hema Malini who is made MP to lick her.”

Surjewala’s insensitive remark drew sharp reactions from various quarters, with actress Kangana Ranaut being one of the prominent voices speaking out against it. Kangana took to social media to express her outrage, condemning the disparaging comments made about Hema Malini’s stature and accomplishments.

In a scathing post, Kangana shared the video of Randeep making the comment, writing in Hindi, “There was a chatter of opening a shop of love but Congress has opened a shop of hatred. Congress leaders, who have degraded views towards women, are deteriorating their character day by day in frustration and despair of inevitable defeat.”

As per Etimes, Kangana also said, “If they see a young woman, they comment on her body parts. And a 75 year old senior woman, who is a classical Bharatanatyam dancer, is called Nachaniya or dancer and abuses like this. They don’t even leave an elderly woman, what kind of life do they want women to live in…it would be better if they dig their own graves and bury themselves in it?”

She added, “Such despicable thinking for a woman, that too for an artist who has dedicated her entire life to art. Not a single day would have gone by when he would not have practiced for 3-4 hours. Isn’t one of our Vedas, Samaveda, which discusses music and dance in detail? So, the thinking of those who make indecent comments on him by not seeing him as a knowledgeable person or a sage or a great personality is not hidden from anyone.”

Meanwhile, Hema Malini also addressed the controversy, asserting that such derogatory remarks were indicative of a lack of respect for women in politics. She said, “They should learn how to respect women from PM Narendra Modi.”
