Kareena Kapoor Khan Joins Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra In Praising Laapataa Ladies; Here’s What She Said

Laapataa Ladies, directed by Kiran Rao, has been receiving widespread critical acclaim ever since it was first released on Netflix.

The movie did have a theatrical run, making around 22 crores at the box-office. Its production budget was only one crore.

Laapataa Ladies has not only been praised by the audience, but also other actors in Bollywood. The latest one to praise Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies is actor Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Taking to Instagram, Kareena Kapoor Khan wrote, “What a gem… take a bow” along with images of the posters of the movie. She also tagged Kiran Rao, Aamir Khan Productions, and actors Pratibha Ranta, Nitanshi Goel, Sparsh Srivastav, and Ravi Kishan in her story.

On IMDb, the official log line of Laapataa Ladies reads, “The misadventures of two young brides who get lost from the same train. From mistaken identities to laugh-out-loud escapades, the ensuing chaos guarantees laughter galore and heartwarming moments.”

The movie stars Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Chhaya Kadam and Ravi Kishan in pivotal roles. Aamir Khan is one of the producers of Laapataa Ladies.

Before Kareena Kapoor Khan, even Alia Bhatt had praised Laapataa Ladies, saying, “These ladies (and gentlemen) truly have my heart. Such a beautiful film, and what fabulous performances by the entire cast! Congratulations to all of you…”

Even Priyanka Chopra had praised Laapataa Ladies. Taking to Instagram, Priyanka Chopra wrote, “Thank you for the entertainment and the education, Kiran Rao! Congratulations on this gem. Make more movies!”

Laapataa Ladies was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival on 8 September 2023, and was released theatrically on 1 March 2024.

It premiered on Netflix globally on 26 April 2024. This is the second movie to be directed by Kiran Rao after 2011’s Dhobi Ghat.
