This sandwich is made without any bread or maida, comes together in a jiffy, and tastes super delicious! It’s also healthy and makes for a great breakfast or lunchbox meal.

Ingredients

1. Half a cup of poha

2. One-fourth cup of gram

3. Flour one cup of semolina.

4. Half a cup of curd

5. One cup of water

6. 1 tablespoon of oil 1 teaspoon of

7. Mustard seeds, 1 teaspoon

8. Cumin seeds, 1/2 teaspoon

9. Asafoetida, 2 teaspoons

10. Urad Dal

11. 5–6 fresh curry leaves

12. Onion 1

13. Tomato 1

14. Capsicum 1

15. Carrot (grated) 1

Recipe

To make it, put poha, gram flour and semolina in a mixer jar and make a fine powder. Now put it in a bowl and add curd and water to it. Then keep it covered for 10 minutes.

After this, finely chop all the vegetables and keep them in it. Now add salt to it. Then put oil in a pan and put it on the gas. When the oil gets hot, add mustard seeds, asafoetida, lentils, curry leaves, cumin seeds, etc., and when it gets roasted, pour it on the gram flour semolina solution and mix it. The breadless sandwich is ready.

Tips to make the perfect breadless sandwich

1. Make sure the batter is thick, because if not, the sandwich will stick, and you’ll have to use it to make cheelas or appams.

2. Before placing the mixture into your sandwich griller, grease it thoroughly with oil or butter. Don’t overfill it.

3. Cook it on a low flame for 5–6 minutes, turning every few minutes.

4. Do not open the griller midway, or else it won’t work. Open it only once the bubbles on the side stop bubbling.

This recipe makes 5-6 sandwiches. You can also make the batter and keep it in the fridge overnight.
