Nothing Phone 2a Camera Specifications Leaked; May Feature A Dual 50MP Setup – All Details

Nothing Phone 2a is rumoured to debut at MWC 2024.

Nothing Phone 2a is rumored to launch soon, and now we have new information about its camera system. Read on to know all the details.

Nothing, the London-based startup founded by Carl Pei, is reportedly planning to launch its third smartphone, the Nothing Phone 2a, at the Mobile World Congress 2024. This would follow the Nothing Phone 2 and the Nothing Phone 1, which were released in 2022 and 2023, respectively.

The Nothing Phone 2a is expected to be a mid-range device that will be more affordable than the outgoing Nothing Phone 2. And now, several new leaks about the phone have come out thanks to a new report by Smartprix.

In collaboration with tipster Kamila, the publication revealed the alleged camera specifications of the device. It is expected to have a dual-camera setup consisting of the 50-megapixel Samsung S5KGN9 sensor, which comes with a 1/1.5” sensor size and 1.0-micron pixel size. The secondary ultrawide lens, on the other hand, could be a 50-megapixel Samsung S5KJN1 ultrawide unit that comes with a 1/2.76” sensor size. It must be noted that even the Nothing Phone 2 comes with the same sensor, so Nothing isn’t really cutting corners here.

On the front, for selfies, Smartprix claims that the Nothing Phone 2 may get a 32-megapixel Sony IMX615X, which the OnePlus 10 also featured.

In terms of performance, the device is rumoured to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chip and feature an OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. As for availability, the report suggests that there may be multiple variants of the Nothing Phone 2a for different regions, which could indicate a wider release. In addition, the device is rumoured to be available in black and white colourways.

That said, keep in mind, these specs may not be final yet, since they’re just unconfirmed rumors, so take them with a grain of salt. Still, the hype and rumors are starting to build up around Nothing’s third phone. We will see how much of it ends up being true when it launches in the near future.
