OnePlus 12 is to switch the Alert Slider to the left-hand side of the phone.

The OnePlus 12 has been officially confirmed to run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and include a primary rear camera sensor.

Chinese tech giant OnePlus is gearing up to launch the successor to the OnePlus 11, its latest premium flagship smartphone—the OnePlus 12—in its home country next week.  The OnePlus 12 is scheduled to be launched in China on December 4. Additionally, the official OnePlus websites in the UK, the US, and India have listed the OnePlus 12. It’s important to note that while the listing is available, it does not confirm a specific launch date.

Ahead of the launch in China, the tech giant has also confirmed the key specifications and the design of its upcoming flagship smartphone. OnePlus China president Li Jie shared a post on Weibo and confirmed that the OnePlus 12 will come with wireless charging capabilities.

The OnePlus 12 has been officially confirmed to run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and include a primary rear camera sensor, the Sony LYTIA LYT808, along with a 64MP 3X periscope telephoto lens, supported by the 4th Gen Hasselblad camera.

Operating on Android 14 with ColorOS 14 as its interface, the phone is equipped with a ProXDR display featuring 2K resolution and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. Moreover, the display has received an A+ rating from DisplayMate. This panel is called the ‘X1 Oriental Screen.’

The OnePlus 12 will come in Pale Green, Rock Black, and White colours. The design of the OnePlus 12 was recently revealed by the company ahead of its China launch. It shares a similar design language to that of the preceding OnePlus 11.

A large circular camera module placed in the top left corner of the back panel comes with the Hasselblad logo in the middle. It also has curved edges, slim bezels, and a centre-aligned hole-punch cutout at the top of the display to house the front camera.

The most prominent design change on the OnePlus 12 is to switch the Alert Slider to the left-hand side of the phone, which allows OnePlus to introduce a new integrated antenna and the Alert Slider solution on the new device to deliver an enhanced antenna performance for gaming.

By relocating the Alert Slider to the opposite side of the phone, better gaming antennas can be deployed on the OnePlus 12.
