The inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya took place on January 22, 2024. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, did the pran pratishtha of Lord Ram’s idol in the temple. While the entire country is celebrating the inauguration of a temple of Hindu God, several celebrities from the Malayalam film industry took to their social media accounts to share the preamble of the Indian constitution. They reminded everyone that the country is secular and socialist.

Celebs like Parvathy Thiruvothu, Divya Prabha, Kani Kusruti, and Rima Kallingal, as well as directors including Jeo Baby, Aashiq Abu, Kamal KM, and singer Sooraj Santhosh, shared the preamble on their respective social media handles.
The preamble read, “We the people of India, having solemnly resolved to constitute India a into a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic, Republic and to secure to all its citizens: Justice, social, economic and political; Liberty of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship; Equality of status and of opportunity and to promote among them all; Fraternity assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the Nation; in our Constituent Assembly, this twenty-sixth day of November, 1949 do Hereby Adopt, Enact and give to ourselves this Constitution.”

However, their post received mixed reactions from netizens. Some reminded them that the words “socialist, secular, and integrity” were added in 1976 under Indira Gandhi’s rule and weren’t in the original text.
