Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment Declares Profit Of Rs 85 Crore For FY23; Details Inside

Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, which produces movies and is involved in film distribution and visual effects, has reportedly earned a net profit of Rs. 85 crore for the fiscal year ended 31 March 2023, according to the company’s latest regulatory filings.

Red Chillies, co-owned by Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri, earns revenue from film production and distribution, OTT content production, and VFX services. According to a report by The Economics Times, during the fiscal year of 2023, the company’s inventories, unreleased films, and unsold film rights stood at Rs. 367 crore. Meanwhile web series and films under development stood at Rs. 357 crore, and film rights at Rs. 9.6 crore respectively.

In the past few years, Red Chillies Entertainment has produced projects like Darlings, a co-production with Alia Bhatt, which was released directly on Netflix back in 2022. Before that, Red Chillies Entertainment premiered Love Hostel on Zee5, which starred Vikram Massey, Sanya Malhotra, and Bobby Deol. It also produced Bhakshak, which starred Bhumi Pednekar, Sanjay Mishra, Aditya Srivastava, and Sai Tamhankar.

These movies opted to be released directly on OTT due to the third wave of the pandemic. Red Chillies Entertainment has also ventured into OTT production with shows like Class of 83 and Bard of Blood. It has a subsidiary, Red Chillies International, and two step-down subsidiaries: UK0-brd Winford Estates and UAE’s Frontstage Entertainment FZ-LLC.

Shah Rukh Khan’s production house has secured and unsecured loans totalling Rs. 416 crore at the end of financial year 2023, up from Rs. 355 crore in the previous year. The unsecured loans were provided by the company’s directors.
