Shark Tank India: Anupam Mittal’s ‘Brutal’ Counter-Offer Leaves Judges Shocked; Here’s What Amit Jain Said

In the latest episode of Shark Tank India, entrepreneurs Rakesh, Parth and Darshit introduced their company to the Sharks. The trio claimed that their health supplements would reduce the biological age of people. As per a report from Times Of India, the entrepreneurs asked for Rs 1 crore for 1.5% of equity in their company.

Intrigued by their claim, the Sharks asked the founders to provide scientific proof for their health supplement. Responding to the same, Rakesh claimed that their supplements have reduced the age of their client by three years. The entrepreneurs reportedly revealed that Shark Anupam Mittal has also taken the test to determine his chronological and biological age.

This left the Sharks in splits. Although the Sharks pressed the founders to reveal the results, they refused to do so by reasoning that it was confidential to their company.

After hearing their pitch, Namita Thapar stated that she was out of the deal reasoning that India is not ready for a supplement like that. She further added that such pills would be too early for India. Aman, Vineeta and Amit followed suit by agreeing with Namita’s reasons. Moreover, the Sharks also argued that the founders could not back their claims with scientific proof.

Shaadi.com founder Anupam Mittal, on the other hand, presented them with an offer. Anupam offered, ”1 crore for 2.5% Equity+ 1% royalty until 1.5 crores is recouped”. This left the Sharks stunned. Amit Jain decided to speak up and said, ”Don’t be brutal on them”.

The founders came up with a counter offer but Anupam refused and decided to lower his offer by saying, ”the least I could do is 2.25% of ownership”. The entrepreneurs sealed the deal with Anupam Mittal.
