Ageism is one of the biggest setbacks for actresses in the film industry. Actors nearly 60 years old are seen romancing actresses in their twenties and nobody bats an eye. However, a situation reversed is met with criticism and an unfavourable reception. Vidya Balan recently recalled the time she was trolled for ‘looking older’ than Shahid Kapoor in their 2008 romantic drama.
In an interview with Radio Nasha, Vidya Balan recalled how people trolled her after the release of the 2008 romantic drama Kismat Konnection. She stated, ”Some people did say that and I think it was a witch hunt honestly, for reasons that we won’t get into right now.” She rightfully called the people ‘petty’ for attacking her.

”But, it’s really petty of whoever did it because does not matter. I am two years older than him (Shahid Kapoor) and if I looked older than him, who cares? Love can happen between people of any age without making a big deal of it. But I guess, that was another time when we did not have these conversations,” Vidya Balan stated.
The actress revealed that she turned all the hate towards her into a career-defining decision about the kind of films she wants to do. Vidya Balan is currently gearing up for the release of Do Aur Do Pyaar also starring Pratik Gandhi.
