Bollywood actress Ananya Panday’s cousin Alanna Panday enjoys a huge social media following. Being a social media influencer, she often shares vlogs about her life, delving into her personal experiences and sharing little anecdotes. In a recent vlog, she opened up about the traumatic birth of her brother Ahaan Panday, who is all set to make his Bollywood debut with Mohit Suri directorial Saiyaara. She was joined by her mother Deanne, who revealed that he was born 42 days premature.
Recalling the horror she went through while giving birth to Ahaan, she shared that she had to be rushed to the hospital at the insistence of her in-laws. Alanna explained that she gets “anxiety” every time she listens to her brother’s birth story. Revealing that the story has never been told “publicly,” she encouraged her mother to share her experience in her own words. Deanne recalled how 42 days before her due date, her water bag had been leaking a little. When it started happening again, the doctor advised her to get hospitalised.

Quoted by the Indian Express, she said, “They did a sonography, all the water had come out by then, and Ahaan was in one corner, curled up. They took me to an emergency C-section, and when they got Ahaan out, he was as small as a rat. They took him away, and I passed out. When I woke up, I asked, ‘Where is my child’, and they told me that he’d been taken to the NICU in another hospital. I demanded that they take me there, even though I’d just been stitched up.”
Alanna goes on to add, “Ahaan was transported in a cooler. A thermocol box! This was back in the day, like 25 years ago. It’s such a filmy story.” Agreeing with the influencer, her mother revealed they had wrapped Ahaan in a cloth, put him in a box, and rushed him to Nanavati. “They were keeping me away from my child, and I went down in a wheelchair, a lot of pain, and they took me to the room…,” she said.

Deanne went on to share that after reaching Ahaan, she noticed a stick attached to her son’s leg. She added that he had suffered a hairline fracture. “This is what Ahaan has been through. I spent 10 days in hospital feeding him,” she concluded.
For those who don’t know, Ahaan Panday is actor Chunkey Panday’s brother Chikki Panday’s younger son. He also has a daughter Alanna Panday, who recently welcomed her son Edward Ivor “River” McCray VI with husband Ivor McCray in 2024. Following in his cousin, Ananya Panday’s footstep he is currently gearing up for his Bollywood debut. He will be seen romancing actress Aneet Padda, of Big Girls Don’t Cry fame, in an “intense love story.” Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Aditya Chopra’s YRF, Saiyaara will release on July 18, 2025.
