Ananya Panday Doesn’t Want To Waste Her Privilege; Says, ‘I Look At It With A Sense Of Pride’

Bollywood actress Ananya Panday is currently busy shooting for her upcoming film Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri (TMMTMTTM). Taking to her Instagram handle, she announced the release of the Kartik Aaryan co-starrer. As fans a busy gushing over her reunion with her Pati Patni Aur Woh co-star, she opened up about how she acknowledges her privilege and understands that there are people who are more talented than her.

Having made her debut with Student of the Year 2, Ananya still has to face nepotism taunts from the netizens, despite having improved her acting skills with every film she does. Talking about it with the Times Of India, she shed light on how the discussions surrounding her coming from a place of privilege make her feel. She recalled the first time she had appeared on Koffee with Karan and expressed how she knows she is privileged. Quoted by Hindustan Times, she revealed that she doesn’t want to waste that privilege.

The 26-year-old actor added, “I know that there are probably people out there who are more talented, better looking and more hardworking than I am. But now I’ve got this opportunity, and I don’t want to waste it, as this has also been my dream since I was a child.”

Speaking about her father, actor Chunky Panday, the Kho Gaye Hum Kahan actor established that she is proud to be his daughter. She said, “I’ve taken the shame out of being privileged, and I look at it with a sense of pride. My father was a child of two doctors, and his dream was to become an actor; he became one. He worked for 40-plus years, and if I can carry forward his legacy and make him proud, it will be a very big achievement for me. I don’t want to not be known as Chunky Panday’s daughter. I’m so proud that he’s my father. I don’t want to look at it as a negative thing anymore because people will always have something to say.”

On the work front, Ananya Panday was last seen on the big screen in Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan starrer Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh. She will be next seen in the romantic drama Chand Mera Dil, co-starring Kill fame Lakshya and Sameer Vidwans directorial Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri.
