Android 14 update has caused issues with wireless Android Auto

Android Auto works both in wired and wireless mode on select cars but Android 14 update has caused issued for some users.

Android Auto is quite popular among users who rely on the system to work in their cars and give them seamless access to their device on the screen. But recently, many users complained that Android Auto in the wireless mode was breaking after they installed the new Android 14 update on select devices.

The issue is particularly affecting those who use Samsung Galaxy phones and have updated to the new Android 14-based One UI 6.0 version recently. Owners of Galaxy phones have shared their issue on Google forums as per this report, who point out that wireless Android Auto is not working on their phones any more.

Some users say Android Auto is unstable, while some have seen it stop working altogether after installing the update. Some of the Samsung users facing this problem have the Galaxy S22+, Galaxy S22 Ultra, and even the latest Galaxy S23 series models.

Google seems to have noticed the complaints about issues with Android Auto in wireless mode, having said that, people have pointed out that Android Auto still works properly when the cable is connected to the phone. The company has also seen some Pixel owners have the same issue after they installed the latest December 2023 Android update.

While Google knows about the problem, it still hasn’t given any update on when the issue could be fixed. The company is likely to issue an out-of-date update to get it fixed which should probably happen faster than waiting for Samsung to release its next patch.

Android Auto has got a new avatar these days for cars which gives it more ammunition to compete with Apple CarPlay that also works wirelessly through iPhones. We’ll be keeping an eye out for any update from Google about a fix for this issue and let you know once that happens.
