Koffee With Karan has become a part and parcel of pop culture in India and several celebs have graced the controversial Koffee couch over the years. But among all these celebs, Shah Rukh Khan has undeniably been the fans and critics’ favourite celeb to come on the show. Infact, SRK was the first ever guest on KWK when the show aired back in 2004, however, the actor now has a strict ‘no media interaction’ policy and fans have been missing Shah Rukh.
In a recent press conference, Mashable India asked Karan Johar if Shah Rukh would ever appear on Koffee With Karan again, to which the director said that SRK has earned his right to be silent. Kjo said, “If there is any megastar who has earned his right to speak when he needs to, it is Shah Rukh Khan.”
Karan further revealed that even if he did ask Shah Rukh to come on the show, he wouldn’t say, but will not ask him. Johar said, “And me being his closest friend and family should understand that, I have that leverage because he is family to me, I can ask him and he will not say no to me. But I never asked because I knew that he didn’t want to be in the situation to say no to me. I know when the right time comes, I will ask him and that will be when he wants to speak and when he does it will be extraordinary.”

When asked if Karan missed Shah Rukh Khan on the show, Kjo had the wittiest response and said he doesn’t because he meets Shah almost every night. He said, “I understand that you (fans) must be missing him.”
Meanwhile, Koffee With Karan season 8 has been topping the OTT charts ever since it released last month. So far, Ranveer-Deepika, Sunny-Bobby, Sara- Ananya, Rani-Kajol, Varun-Sidharth, were seen on the show. Vicky Kaushal and Kiara Advani as the next guest, while celebs like Rohit Shetty, Ajay Devgn, Jahnvi Kapoor and more are expected to come on the show.
