Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga is currently finalising the last details of his upcoming cop drama Spirit. Ever since the announcement and the entire Deepika Padukone controversy, the Prabhas and Triptii Dimri starrer has been making the headlines. As fans await an official update on the movie’s filming process from the makers, Vanga’s brother Pranay Reddy Vanga recently revealed that the film will officially go on floors in September 2025.
For those who don’t know, Spirit marks the first collaboration between Sandeep and Prabhas. As reported earlier by media publications, the filmmaker has requested the Baahubali actor to allot bulk dates for the shoot of the film, since the role requires him to undergo a physical transformation. It is to be noted that reportedly, Prabhas is wrapping up his existing work commitments. According to the sources, the makers are planning to shoot the film in a single, focused schedule to preserve the narrative continuity and character integrity.

It was just last month that, according to various media reports, the 43-year-old filmmaker had removed Deepika from Spirit due to her “unprofessional” behaviour and demands. Her demands reportedly included an eight-hour workday, a hefty remuneration along with a percentage of the film’s profit, and reportedly not wanting to speak Telugu dialogues. However, what caught everyone’s attention was her demand for an eight-hour workday, because she has to return to her daughter Dua, who is not even a year old yet.
Her stance on the multiple aspects of the shoot frustrated Vanga to the point that he decided to part ways with her and remove her from the project. After which, Triptii Dimri was taken on board for the film. In the midst of it all, there have been quite a few media reports mudslinging on both the actresses and scrutinising their till-date works and the kind of roles they have played. The entire ordeal has left the internet split.
