Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, will soon be debuting as a director. His show, titled Stardom, will see big names featured in it whereas Aryan Khan himself isn’t stepping into the world of acting.
Now, according to a report by Mid-Day, several top Bollywood directors and producers are keen to make a movie with Aryan Khan. The report states that those who have met Aryan Khan believe he has it in him to follow in his father’s footsteps and ‘become the next big thing.’
Shah Rukh Khan’s filmmaker friends – Aditya Chopra, Karan Johar, and Farah Khan – have reportedly offered to direct Aryan Khan’s debut movie, as per the report. The report also added that director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has ‘approached the Khans with an epic subject.’
However, the report said that Aryan Khan ‘is focusing all his energy on his maiden directorial venture.’ Only when Aryan Khan is done with his web series will he discuss with his father whether he should explore acting. Insiders told Mid-Day that Aryan Khan ‘has always been inclined towards filmmaking,’ something Shah Rukh Khan spoke about during the release of 2018’s Zero.
Meanwhile, Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, Stardom, explores the lives and struggles of Bollywood stars. Earlier in May 2024, in an interview with Film Companion, Jay Oza, the project’s cinematographer, said that Aryan Khan’s series will include elements of comedy.
He said, “A film like Raman Raghav 2.0, we all knew what we were aiming for. The nature of the story is that. But, for example, the show that I’m doing with Aryan, I can’t take the Raman Raghav approach because there is a certain level of comedy and entertainment. Aryan personally likes to see things bright.
