Arijit Singh rescheduled his upcoming live concert in Abu Dhabi due to the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following recent military actions. On Thursday, Arijit’s team announced the postponement via Instagram, sharing a note explaining the decision to defer the show originally set for 9 May 2025 at Etihad Arena, Yas Island.
The statement read, “Dear Fans, due to recent events, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Arijit Singh live concert in Abu Dhabi, originally scheduled for 9 May 2025, at the Etihad Arena, Yas Island. We deeply appreciate your patience, support, and understanding during this time. We are working closely with the venue and the new date will be announced soon.”
The note clarified options for ticket holders, stating, “All purchased tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled date, or you may opt for a full refund within 7 days, starting 12 May 2025 (Monday). Thank you for your continued love and support, we look forward to creating unforgettable memories with you soon. With love, Team Arijit Singh Live.”
This decision follows India’s retaliatory strikes on nine terror sites in Pakistan, launched in response to a Pakistan-sponsored terror attack in Pahalgam last month that killed 26 people. Previously, Arijit had also canceled a Chennai concert after the Pahalgam attack, informing fans via Instagram Stories with a note from the event organizers.
The Pahalgam attack targeted tourists, claiming over 20 lives, including a local who heroically attempted to disarm the terrorists before being shot. The assailants segregated victims by religion before executing them. The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility. TRF emerged after the 2019 abrogation of Article 370, which revoked Jammu and Kashmir’s special status, making it a union territory. Arijit’s postponement reflects the gravity of the situation, prioritizing safety amid the ongoing regional unrest.
