Triptii Dimri is having the kind of year that skyrockets stars straight into the ‘national crush’ hall of fame. After setting screens ablaze with Animal and grooving through Bad Newz and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, she’s back to add a touch of her charm to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, this time pairing up with Kartik Aaryan. The buzz? Off the charts! And while Triptii may be everyone’s latest obsession, director Anees Bazmee reveals that she wasn’t the first pick for this Diwali-ready horror-comedy. But when it clicked, it really clicked.
In an exclusive with News18, Bazmee admits, “It’s not like Triptii was our go-to from day one. We considered quite a few options. Then suddenly, she just came to mind. It was like, why didn’t we think of her earlier?” Talk about a lucky (or spooky?) twist of fate! And yet, despite the post-Animal fame, Anees is quick to point out that Triptii didn’t just walk into stardom overnight. It’s been a climb. “She’s been in the industry for almost eight years now, delivering standout performances in Bulbbul and Qala. This isn’t just some flash-in-the-pan success; it’s hard-earned recognition.”
So, what makes Triptii the ‘it’ factor? Anees chalks it up to a unique blend of charisma, talent, and, as he puts it, “being very easy to work with.” Bazmee realized she was perfect for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 when brainstorming fresh faces for Kartik to share the screen with. And, according to him, Triptii’s pairing with Kartik might just be the unexpected on-screen duo audiences didn’t know they needed. “Everyone who’s seen the film so far has been like, ‘Anees bhai, you nailed it! Triptii was the only choice for this role,’” he laughs. The word “beautiful” keeps cropping up – looks like we’re in for some visually (and comedically) stunning chemistry.
But don’t be fooled by the trailer’s playful vibe – Triptii’s role in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is more than just a pretty face or a couple of catchy tunes. Bazmee hints that her character adds layers of intrigue, saying, “She’s going to shock everyone with her role and performance. Audiences are in for a surprise. They’ll be like, ‘Wait, that’s her role? I didn’t see that coming.’”
