One thing we’ve learned after Pathaan and Jawan is that Shah Rukh Khan shows no signs of slowing down. He’s back in action, throwing punches in a jail setting… all while filming his next major project, King. According to a report in Mid-Day, the superstar kicked off shooting a high-intensity jail sequence at Mumbai’s Mehboob Studios earlier this week.
“The scene is set in a foreign jail, where the protagonist takes on a gang of baddies. Since it forms a critical part of the narrative, Siddharth has flown in three international stunt experts to design the scene. On June 15, the crowd portions were canned with nearly 200 stunt performers,” a source told the publication house. That’s correct! 200 stuntmen. SRK, who reportedly portrays a slick assassin in this thriller, has been undergoing rigorous training for weeks.

Director Siddharth Anand, riding high on his Pathaan success, is said to be crafting a grittier, raw version of Shah Rukh for this film. While fans might be anticipating a showdown between SRK and King’s antagonist Abhishek Bachchan, that moment hasn’t arrived yet, as Junior B wasn’t part of this shooting schedule. Suhana Khan makes her big-screen debut alongside her real-life father SRK in King. The film is currently being shot in Bandra and is set to complete this jail sequence by 21 June.
In King, Shah Rukh Khan plays the titular role of a formidable assassin entrenched in the underworld. Recent reports indicate that Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Arshad Warsi, Abhay Verma, Raghav Juyal, and Anil Kapoor have joined the project in pivotal roles. Suhana will portray Shah Rukh’s student, training for deadly missions. Both SRK and Suhana have reportedly undergone intense physical training for the film.
Anil Kapoor has joined the cast as Shah Rukh Khan’s handler and mentor, guiding his character through a gritty world of espionage and high-stakes action. The filmmakers have also brought in international action directors to ensure the stunts are nothing short of spectacular. The movie is aiming for a release between October and December 2026 and will be filmed over 100 days across various locations. On the music front, Sachin–Jigar are composing the songs, while Anirudh is responsible for the background score.
